The Stride program

One program. Activities that grow with your child.

Children join the group that matches their age and experience and move on as they are ready. Every activity is hands-on, in a group of up to 10, with the same teacher throughout.

How it works

From first call to first robot

  1. Call or book a trial lesson

Tell us your child's age and what they enjoy. A trial lesson is the easiest way to see if Stride is a good fit.

  2. We place your child in a group

Groups of up to 10 are formed by age and experience. No prior experience is needed for the beginner activities.

  3. Days and times are agreed

Lesson days and times are set once a group forms, so we can fit around families as far as possible.

  4. Lessons run in blocks

Most activities are 60-minute lessons in blocks of 24 to 40 lessons. Intermediate and Advanced robotics run 60 to 90 minutes.

Ages 4 to 6

Early years: play-based STEAM

Pre-school children learn through building, storytelling and screen-free coding with LEGO® DUPLO® and LEGO® Education sets. No prior experience is needed.

Outcomes

What children take away

  • Computational thinking: sequences, loops, conditions, variables and debugging, introduced at the right age.
  • Engineering and physics: forces, motion, gears, balance, friction and energy, tested on real models.
  • Maths and language in context: measurement, data, number patterns, vocabulary and storytelling through projects.
  • Collaboration and communication: working in pairs and small groups, presenting to classmates and parents.
  • Resilience: models fail, programs have bugs, and children learn to treat both as the next step.

Safety and supervision

Small groups, always supervised

Ratio

Our usual ratio is one teacher to six children, and never more than one to ten. Groups are capped at 10.

First aid

Staff are first-aid trained. The classroom is purpose-built for children working with building and robotics materials.

Drop-off and pick-up

A parking area is about 50 metres from the entrance.

Fees and trial lessons

Talk to us about fees

Fees depend on the activity and the block length, so we discuss them with each family by phone rather than publishing a price list. Trial lessons and a sibling discount are available; call us to arrange either.

Not sure which group fits your child?

Call us and we will talk it through, or book a trial lesson and see the classroom for yourself.
